Global Warming

1. Global Warming is the worldly gradual increase in temperature over consecutive years.

2.-3.Yes, I do believe in Global warming because of the yearly lack of snow, my state has received in recent years compared to earlier years, Also because of the increase in the meltage of ice in Antarctica and the Arctic. I've also observed on the Discovery Channel, that Polar Bears are losing their habitat due to global warming because of the ice that is melting. Jocelyn, says that the local bay areas will be flooded due to rising sea levels.

4.As a person with an opposing view may say, that these are natural causes, and are not associated with the carbon monoxide or dioxide emissions. They may also so say that these occurrences like the ice melting and the increase in temperature are all just coincidence.

MY HURRICANEEEEE..................................HURRICANEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

1. I chose Hurricane Charley, to talk about which occurred in 2004.

2. Hurricane Charley at maximum wind speed was a category 4 Hurricane or F4 on the Sappire-Simpson scale.

3. Hurricane Charley, originated from a tropical wave which then developed into a tropical depression 115 miles southeast of Barbados. Later on, Charley turned into a Tropical storm in then a Hurricane on the 11th near Jamaica. Charley than entered Florida passing by Orlando, Charley than entered back into the Atlantic; only to come back ashore in Cape Romain South Carolina on the 14th as a category 1 Hurricane, Charley soon weakened to a tropical storm over southeastern North Carolina and died out over the Atlantic near Virginia Beach.

4. Hurricane Charley, caused 10 deaths in the U.S. 4 in Cuba and 1 in Jamaica, Charley also caused $15 billion dollars worth of damage, becoming the second costliest Hurricane in U.S. history.

Air Masses

1. The four main types of Air Masses are Maritime Tropical (mT), which is wet or moist warm air, Then there is Maritime Polar(mP), which is wet or moist cold air, Then there is Continental Tropical(cT) which is Dry Warm air, Then there is Continental Polar(cP) which is Dry Cold air.



2. A Maritime Tropical Air Mass is more likely to bring Hurricanes because Hurricanes form over Large WARM bodies of WATER which the air above Oceans is moist because over the continuous evaporation of Ocean Water.



3. A Continental Tropical Air Mass is more likely to bring a Drought because of the Dry air due to a lack of Water Vapor and the Warmness of the Mass will also have Affects on the Surrounding Air's Humidity. Also Continental Polar in a Kind of wierd COLD Drought, with a lack of rain.



4. Continental Polar Air Masses bring Lake-effect Snowstroms to the Great Lakes in the Upper Northern part of the United States.



5. Well there's the Highland air mass, which forms in regions where there is great elevation change in short distances. there is also the Arctic air mass, which occurs when a high pressure area becomes nearly stationary over eastern Alaska and the Yukon.

Gre Gre Gre Greenhouse gases!

1. IR radiation, is Infrared Radiation

2. The three main gases greenhouse gases, are Carbon Dioxide, Methane and Water Vapor.

3.In some Scientific cases i consider it good but other than that, I think its bad because it increases the rate of Global warming, the melting of Glaciers, which would result in loss of Habitat (Tundra) for Polar bears, Penguins, Arctic seals, Arctic foxes, some species of whales and other numerous species of animals. I think it would be bad to see all of these phenomenal animals go because, when they're on Discovery Channel and National Geographics they are very interesting and spectacular; it would be ashame and upsetting thing for this animals to disappear SLOWLY for something like this.

I think recycling is better for us

1. I think specifically we should, recycle glass because people would have a place to put their used glass bottles rather than throw them on the ground and shatter it.

2. I think recycling is better than reusing things because, when you recycle you can make knew things with whatever you recycle, and when you reuse things you can only use them for a limited purpose.

3. We can put all of our glass bottles with the numbers 1-7 in a recycling containers along with any cardboard boxes and brown paper bags.

5.Plastic can be made into milk jugs,plastic siding on houses, plastic bottles, transparent sheets,containers,pens, keys on a computer, video game controllers, and wheels on a chair.

6. Metals can be recycled into new metals, screws,metal bins, car parts, building materials, and soda cans.

7.Give a powerpoint presentation showing, what the earth can look like in the future if we continue not to recyle alot.

What I think my grade should be

What I think my grade should be for this quarter, is at least an 88B because i completed all of my blogs the day they were assigned, i made sure my grammar was correct, i gave detailed information about my blogs, i conducted research to make sure my information was correct

I choose the Atlantic Ocean

I chose the Atlantic Ocean out of the four Oceans to talk about, what important resources, that we use today, come from it. The five resources are Oil and Gas which we use for our cars as fuel, Sand and Gravel aggregates which are used in concrete/cement, another resource is fish which can be sold in markets in commerce, and there are polymetallic nodules, which are like considerably rock sized and form due to the result of precipitate, which is when a solid forms from a chemical reaction. Then there is precious stones like pearls, that can be sold as jewelery.
